The project site is located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province and Shahrekord County. Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province has an area of approximately 16,421 square kilometers and is situated in the southwest of Iran, with Shahrekord County located in the eastern part of this province.
The use of rectangular cuboid forms for the initial mass concept results in maximum compatibility of the building with the climate due to the low surface-to-volume ratio. The building orientation along the longitudinal axis of the site, and dividing it into smaller masses, not only creates a form that is climate-compatible but also facilitates horizontal pathways in the plan to expedite and ease access across the hospital’s transverse axis.
To accelerate and ease transverse access, two horizontal axes perpendicular to the overall longitudinal axis of the building have been designed, dividing the 1000-bed Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (S) Hospital in Shahrekord into several cubic masses.
To ensure proper lighting and ventilation inside the cubic masses, various central courtyards have been created, each providing its own lighting and ventilation separately.
Creating breaks in the building surfaces to increase light penetration and provide a better view.
Final studies on horizontal and vertical connectivity within the buildings are among the most critical aspects of designing a healthcare space. Given the plan’s form in each section of the 1000-bed Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (S) Hospital in Shahrekord, vertical connections are considered through staircases and elevators in suitable locations to reduce congestion and traffic.
In the area of medical entrances, healthcare centers capable of receiving more entries are prioritized. To this end, eight separate entrances have been designed, including: the main entrance, emergency entrance, support entrance, educational entrance, administrative entrance, dental entrance, outpatient entrance, and clinic entrance.
