Client: Technical and Vocational University

Location: Provinces of Isfahan, Gilan, and Yazd

Date: 2021

Project Use: Educational

The purpose of constructing the entrance portal for the Technical and Vocational University is to define a unified entry space as a distinctive and recognizable feature, ensuring that it is easily identifiable and visible to the general public.

Key design considerations include:

  • Flexible and Pure Form: A form that harmonizes with the context and theme of the design, providing a cohesive visual identity.

  • Separation of Vehicle and Pedestrian Access: Clear differentiation between vehicular and pedestrian entry and exit paths.

  • Inviting Openness: Creating an open entryway to enhance the sense of invitation and welcome.

  • Use of Traditional Iranian Arch: Incorporating a traditional arch design, prioritizing pedestrian access, to reflect Iranian architectural heritage.

  • Symbolic Stepped Facade: The ascending stepped facade symbolizes knowledge, representing the journey towards higher learning.

  • Prominent Entrance: Utilizing prominent and readily available materials across the country (such as brick and stone) to make the entrance stand out against the university’s boundary walls.

  • Security and Control: Designing a secure entrance with a space for monitoring and controlling access (including a guard area overseeing both pedestrian and vehicular traffic).
