The 511-bed educational Iranshahr Hospital is being constructed in Iranshahr County, located in Sistan and Baluchestan Province. The hospital, with a floor area of 54,000 square meters, is under the supervision of the Iranshahr University of Medical Sciences. The goal of constructing this hospital is to improve the region’s health and medical indices.
In the Iranshahr Hospital, horizontal expansion is feasible given the relatively large area of the project site. However, constructing a building attached to the main structure is less recommended due to the fire loop and the building’s natural lighting considerations. If expansion is needed in the future after the hospital becomes operational, a new building with an independent entrance can be considered next to the hospital.
For better spatial readability, an inward break was created in the middle of the two longitudinal masses, establishing a visual axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, defining the entrance space.
For vertical connections within the hospital, the most accessible location was chosen as the center of the design. To this end, a central circular core was designed, ultimately leading to a helipad on the roof.

The Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) has a significant impact on the health, comfort, and efficiency of its users. The building should have adequate lighting and ventilation, and humidity should be controlled. However, as there is no specific vegetation on this site, greenery has been considered in the two central courtyards on either side of the central core and in the landscaping of this medical center, which helps create a calming and soothing environment.
