Client: Abadan School of Medical Sciences and Health Services
Location: Khuzestan Province – Shadgan County
Date: 2019
Project Use: Medical
The site of this project is located on the western side of the existing Shahid Moarefizadeh Hospital. The total land area for this project is approximately 44,200 square meters.
Given the site of the 320-bed Shadgan Hospital and the desired functionalities, three elongated rectangular forms were initially established in alignment with the site’s secondary access routes to facilitate better spatial separation.
Additionally, two internal access routes perpendicular to the previous axes were considered for horizontal connectivity.
The northern section of the building has been elevated to enhance natural light exposure and to provide a suitable location for a helipad.
To counteract the prevailing winds in the area, aerodynamic breaks were incorporated into the design of the medical building’s form.
The vertical circulation elements have been positioned in a way that both minimizes pressure and suction from the prevailing winds and ensures adequate sunlight exposure.
The overall orientation of the building mass is designed to optimize light from the ideal angle.
